Heat transfer is a technology for applying images to textiles using special films. The applications made from films are cut on special plotters, applied to the fabric, and then processed with a heat press. As a result of exposure to temperatures from 120ºC to 190ºC under pressure, the film "bonds" with the material structure, forming the image.

Main stages of the heat transfer technology on a t-shirt using a flat heat press:
1. Prepare the file in any editor;  
2. With the help of a cutting plotter connected to a computer, the required image is cut.  
3. The excess parts of the film are removed from the backing; the result is a ready transfer.  
4. The obtained transfer is placed on the fabric (t-shirt) and heated in a flat heat press for heat transfer printing.  
5. The backing is removed.  
If a multicolored image needs to be applied, the process is repeated several times, depending on the number of colors. As for the plotter, it is connected to the computer just like an ordinary printer, and it cuts the material along the lines specified in the file.  
The film intended for heat transfer on a t-shirt using a flat heat press has two main layers: a transparent polymer base and the heat transfer film layer. The plotter cuts only the heat transfer film, without touching the base, so the image does not fall apart and stays on the base itself.

- The image obtained through heat transfer is inseparable from the fabric.  

- The image does not wash off even with machine washing.  

- Possibility of producing both single pieces and large runs.  

- High application quality thanks to precise cutting accuracy.  

- Low time consumption: heat transfer takes 8 seconds. Cutting and placing the design on the fabric takes about a minute.

The heat transfer process on various surfaces using a flat heat press for heat transfer printing is carried out with two technologies: the first technology we described above, and the second technology will be briefly explained below.  

The film for printing solvent ink prints, specially created for printing multicolored prints with solvent inks, followed by plotter cutting and heat transfer onto fabric.  

Currently, heat transfer is the best method developed recently. This technology remains the most popular among all the methods invented so far because it produces reliable and durable images.
